For Youtubers it is very important to understand the concept of 4000 hours. Before we understand when counting begins and how to determine your last 12 months, let’s first deal with 4000 hours of observation, regardless of the duration.

Watching hours is how long your videos are watching. Your videos must be watched by viewers for 2.40,000 minutes (4 thousand hours) and 1000 subscribers to enable monetization. Let’s look at an example: if you uploaded 12 videos lasting 5 minutes, you need 4,000 people to watch them all:
12 x 5 x 4000 = 240,000 minutes = 4000 hours.
How to determine your 4000 hours in the last 12 months
The 4000-hour bill in the previous 12 months begins when the channel was created. How many hours of viewing has your channel earned in the last 12 months? Many creators believe that the countdown of 12 months begins from the moment of the first boot, but it is not.
To determine your watch in the previous 12 months, follow these instructions:
- Log in to your YouTube channel
- Press on account icon and select my channel as shown in the screenshots below
- Press on Creator Studio
- Then click on analytics from sidebar
- Then select analytics for the last 365 days, as shown in the screenshot below.
- This should be your final output to the analytics page.
If your hours are displayed in minutes, convert them to hours. No matter what time you are watching, based on the last 365 days, this should be your real viewing time for the last 12 monthsIn fact, you do not need to worry about when the counting began, your last observation time of 365 days is your previous observation time of 12 months.

To make an analytics report for hours, not minutes, click the settings icon on the analytics page, as shown in the screenshot below.
